Workers in Charlottesville have covered up the statues of Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson Wednesday. The Daily Progress in Charlottesville reports that the city council decided to cover up the statues following residents' backlash over the city's decisions leading to the outbreak of violence at a white nationalist demonstration.

ESPN Announcer Robert Lee Booted From U.Va. Season Opener Because Of His Name

ESPN announced Tuesday night it has shifted an announcer named Robert Lee from the University of Virginia's Sept. 2 football season opener against William and Mary to another game because he shares a name with the embattled Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. For the record, ESPN's Lee is Asian-American.
