Fairfax County Police Chase Attempted Murder Suspect For 38 Miles
Fairfax County Police chased a man wanted for attempted murder for 38 miles on Interstate 66.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—It took a 38 miles of road, but Fairfax County Police caught up to a suspect wanted for attempted murder in Pennsylvania.
On Sunday, Aug. 20, officers learned of the suspect's location when he drove through a plate reader driving West on Interstate 66. Robert David Sheets, of Quarryville, Pa. was wanted on an Aug. 14 attempted murder in Lancaster County, Pa.
Police located the suspect's car on I-66 near the Fairfax County Parkway, but he refused to pull over. Police chased him through the county and into Prince William and Fauquier Counties.

Authorities were able to stop the car once he got off the highway near Route 17 and Route 50 in Fauquier County. Sheets was arrested and taken to the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.
In addition to the two counts of attempted homicide from Pennsylvania authorities, Sheets now faces charges of felony speed to elude, reckless driving, and possession and transport of firearms while under a protective order from Fairfax County.
