His show at the Birchmere Saturday night with brother Michael was sold out, but the actor and musician popped up around Alexandria.

Visitors to Alexandria, Va. donut shop, Sugar Shack Donuts, were treated Saturday morning to more than donuts with an impromptu performance of “Footloose” by Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael.

Sugar Shack posted its video of Bacon’s stop with: ”You never know who will show up to sing for a free House donut. #donuts4Good #KevinBacon”

The donut shop opened earlier this year and is owned by Del. Rob Krupicka. In keeping with the community focus of the shop, as well as Krupicka’s personal values, Sugar Shack Alexandria has partnered with Together We Bake to provide part of his kitchen staff. Together We Bake is a non-profit workforce training and personal development program for women in need of a second chance. Coffee is sourced from a local small-batch roaster. Even the shop’s location in Alexandria’s historic Parker-Gray neighborhood was chosen for its diversity and unique community character.

Some of Bacon’s visits around Alexandria are being posted on the Twitter feed for SixDegrees.org., Bacon’s organization that makes connections between celebs and change-makers who move people to do more good in their everyday activities.
