What We Know About The Restaurant Replacing SnackBar

The replacement restaurant hasn't been announced yet, but there are a few details about what's to come.

While SnackBar closed over Labor Day Weekend, a new restaurant is in the works at 2419 Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray. The Catch on the Avenue restaurant is aiming for a November opening.

The team behind Mason Social, Augie's Mussel House and Patio and the upcoming Urbano 116 is taking over the space. The city has received a special use permit application proposing a new restaurant in broad terms.

While we don't know what that restaurant will entail, there are some clues about the operation. Based on the application, it will be a full-service restaurant with a 20-seat bar and take-out service. Limited live entertainment and large screen TVs are possible.

Like SnackBar, outdoor seating would be a draw for this restaurant. Around 100 indoor seats and 20 outdoor seats are proposed. Live entertainment would be limited to the indoor area.

Hours would be 6 a.m.-11 p.m. with closings at midnight on Friday and Saturday. There are no details on the Catch on the Avenue menu, as the team is developing it at this time.

Meanwhile, Bagel Uprising, which set up shop in SnackBar, is seeking a permanent location.
