Wood-Fired Pizza Restaurant in the Works for Yates Corner
Location is at Mount Vernon Avenue and Braddock Road area.

A wood-fired pizza restaurant and bar is in the works for Yates Corner, the development at Mount Vernon Avenue and Braddock Road across the street from the Braddock Road Metro Station in Alexandria, according to documents filed with the City Planning Commission.
The restaurant proposed by Yates Restaurant Group LLC will be a “locally owned and operated wood-fired pizza concept,” according to a description submitted to the City. “Rather than lease to a chain or franchise group, we want to build a restaurant that will both reflect and appeal to the local community, and particularly families with children. We are also excited by the chance to activate this corner with outdoor dining, and to encourage foot traffic. Commuters can pick up a meal on their way home from the metro. The location is also walkable from much of Rosemont, southern Del Ray and western Old Town.”
The square footage is nearly 5,000 square feet with seating for 150 inside and outside; the owners anticipate featuring large-screen TVs behind a bar and throughout the restaurant.

The menu will feature gourmet wood-fired pizzas, “made to order in our display ovens,” as well as pastas, salads and sandwiches, and a children’s menu. Beer, wine and spirits will be sold on the premises only at the restaurant and bar.
The proposed hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday and 11 a.m.to midnight the rest of the week.
