FAIRFAX, VA – Fairfax residents will have a new place to go for Tex-Mex favorites when Doña Mesa opens on Braddock Road on Thursday.

Doña Mesa’s menu includes the quesadillas, fajitas and tacos Tex-Mex fans will expect, as well as specialties like slow-cooked Mexican ribs, stuffed shrimp, marinated grilled chicken, ribeye steak and more. There's a cocktail menu in addition to beer and wine offerings, and margarita specials are already being advertised.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Tex-Mex, my family would say it’s my favorite,” owner Aaron McDade told Patch in an email.

Doña Mesa “will focus on hospitality with great food,” he said. The new restaurant aims to be a destination for gatherings of all kinds, and the menu features a selection of platters designed for sharing.

McDade, who says he’s been in Northern Virginia for 30 years, says he loves the food culture in the area. He announced the coming of the new restaurant in the Vienna Foodies Facebook group, which has become over the years more than just a place for restaurant reviews, but a site for community announcements, charitable fundraising, awareness-raising campaigns and more.

“I love the insight that Vienna Foodies gives to the restaurant experience,” McDade says. “The feedback is great and the comments are a great way to see what’s on the mind of the customer.”

McDade would know: he’s also the owner of Draper’s Steak and Seafood on Blenheim Boulevard.

Check out Doña Mesa at 106 Braddock Road, Suite C, when they open on Thursday.
