$125K VA Lottery Win For Chantilly Man With Ticket Bought At Giant

FAIRFAX, VA — Alfredo Ochoa of Chantilly scratched his way to $125,000 in holiday money with a Virginia Lottery ticket he purchased recently at Giant Foods located at 13043 Lee Jackson Highway in Fairfax.

Ochoa couldn't sleep the night after he discovered he'd won the top prize in the lottery's Holiday Cash 20X game. He told lottery officials that he plans to use his winnings to take case of his family.

Ochoa's ticket was the first top prize claimed in the Holiday Cash 20X game, which features prizes from $5 up to $125,000. The game's other for top prizes remain unclaimed. The chances of winning the top prize with a Holiday Cash 20X ticket are 1 in 342,720. The chances of winning any prize are 1 in 4.3.

Proceeds from the Virginia Lottery go to fund K-12 education in Virginia. K-12 education in Fairfax County, where Ochoa lives, received more than $48.5 million in lottery funds in fiscal year 2023.
