2 Charged With Assaulting Man Who Tried To Break Up Fight Between Them

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested two men who they say assaulted another man who was trying to break up an altercation between them, according to the weekly crime report.

Officers responded around 4:12 p.m., on Sunday, to the 10600 block of Fairfax Boulevard for the report of an altercation. Police determined that the victim had tried to break up an argument between two men. The victim was taken to Fairfax Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Nearby, police located 41-year-old Hugo Avalos-Aguilar and 25-year-old Jose Serpas, both of whom were of no fixed of address. After determining that the two men were intoxicated, the officers took them into custody and took them to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, according to police.

Once there, Avalos-Aguilar and Serpas were each charged with assault by mob and drunk in public. They were then held without bond, according to the release.
