Fatal Shooting, Suicide Suspected In Deaths Of Fairfax Couple: Updated
Fairfax County Police identified the two victims who were found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds Saturday in a Fairfax-area home.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County Police identified Madeline Bregman, 76, and Michael Bregman, 77, as the two people discovered suffering from gunshot wounds inside a home in the 10400 block of Stallworth Court on Saturday afternoon, according to a release. The couple was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers responded around 3 p.m., on Saturday to the Fairfax-area home to perform a welfare check.

Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe that Michael shot his wife, Madeline, and then shot himself, according to the release. Police found a firearm and several spent cartridge cases in the home. The couple's bodies were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where autopsies will be conducted to determine the manner and cause of death.
Victim specialists from FCPD's Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division are assisting the family of the victims.

This is the seventh homicide to occur in Fairfax County this year. At this point in 2021, there were seven homicides.
