RESTON, VA — Reston Community Players' production of the Disney musical "Newsies" debuts Friday night at Capital One Hall in Tysons. RCP will present six performances through July 17.
"Newsies" is part of RCP's new apprentice program, in which students ages 13 to 18 gain pre-professional performance and technical experience.
Based on the 1992 musical motion picture, "Newsies" was inspired by the 1899 Newsboy Strike. The story follows Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who rallies his fellow newsies against unfair conditions and to fight for what's right.
