2 Shootings Into Vehicles In Fairfax City May Be Related: Police

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police are investigating two shooting into vehicle incidents that occurred early Thursday morning that appear to be connected, according to a police release.

Officers responded between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., for the report of a shooting into an occupied vehicle in the area of Fairfax Boulevard and Lion Run. The vehicle's occupant received minor injuries, according to the release.

While the officers were responding to the first incident, a second call came in reporting another shooting into a vehicle about 2 miles away in the area of Fairfax Boulevard and Fairchester Drive. Police say the victim involved in that incident was uninjured.

A preliminary investigation determined that the two incidents appeared to be related, according to police.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings or who may have video surveillance from businesses located on Fairfax Boulevard between Fairfax Circle and Kamp Washington to contact Detective Green at 703-385-7959 or MGreen@fairfaxva.gov.
