3 Fairfax College Students Awarded Gold Star Status At Citadel

Patch recognizes achievements of Fairfax college students who have received honors or contributed to public service at their schools.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — To shine a light on the academic achievements of college students from Fairfax City, Patch shares information provided the students' families and Merit News.

Jacob Schools of Fairfax was named to the was named dean's list for academic excellence for the fall 2021 semester at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Schools is a member of the class of 2023 and is majoring in electrical and computer engineering. WPI students can earn a spot on the dean's list by the amount of work they completed at the A level courses and project.

Gold stars are presented to students who earned a 3.7 graded point average or higher during the awards parade on Jan. 28.

Four college students from Fairfax were named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia:

  • Jessica Willebeek-LeMair of Fairfax
  • Regan Tate of Fairfax

To gain a spot on the HU dean's list, students must earn at least a 3.5 average grade point average.

Three Fairfax college students in the class of 2025 were named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts:

  • Sam Littman of Fairfax
  • Eric Lundgren of Fairfax
  • Caroline Stephens of Fairfax

To gain a spot on the dean's list at Tufts, students must earn at least a 3.4 average grade point average.

The following students participated in winter 2021 commencement exercises on Dec. 11 at Radford University in Radford, Virginia:

  • Lily Lynn Daus of Fairfax, bachelor of science in psychology
  • Jillian Barnard of Fairfax, master of occupational therapy in occupational therapy
  • Jessica Lynn Peckins of Fairfax, master of science in physician assistant

The following students were included on the fall 2021 Dean's List at Radford University in Radford, Virginia:

  • Jennifer Zotian, communication major from Fairfax
  • Nicolas Cervi, emergency services major from Fairfax
  • Bridget Harold, nursing major from Fairfax
  • Lily Daus, psychology major from Fairfax
  • Megan Reed, theatre major from Fairfax

To earn a spot on the dean's list, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more graded hours and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.

Fatemeh Avazzadehmehryan of Fairfax was named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. WNEU students can earn a spot on the dean's list by achieving a 3.30 grade point average or higher. Avazzadehmehryan is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree.
