3 Hospitalized After Electrical Event Sparks Fire At Kings Park Home; Damage $312K
Three people were hospitalized following an early morning fire last Tuesday at a single-family home in the Kings Park neighborhood.

FAIRFAX, VA — Three people were hospitalized last Tuesday due to an early morning fire that caused an estimated $312,510 in damage to a Kings Park home, according to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Fire units from both the county and City of Fairfax responded around 8:22 a.m. for the report of a house fire in the 8700 block of Parliament Drive.
Arriving on the scene, firefighters observed flames showing from a two-story, single family home. Crews were quickly able to extinguish the blaze.

After being alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm, the home's three occupants were able to exit, according to FCFRD. One of the occupants attempted to extinguish the blaze and a neighbor reported the fire to 911.
The three occupants were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to FCFRD.

The fire originated in one of the home's bedrooms and was caused by an electrical event involving an electrical outlet, according to fire inspectors.
The Red Cross assisted the home's occupants and no firefighters were reported injured.
