4 City Residents Bilked Out Of Money; Suspect Arrested In GA: Police
With the help of law enforcement officers in Georgia, Fairfax City Police arrested a suspect for obtaining money under false pretenses.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police charged a Georgia man on Jan. 11 in connection with multiple cases of fraud that were perpetuated against four city residents.
Police learned on June 27, 2023 that an unknown suspect had contacted the four victims. Identifying himself as a law enforcement officer, he told the victims that there were outstanding warrants against them and they needed to pay a bond in order to avoid arrest. Each of the victims met with the suspect and paid the money he asked for.
Through their investigation, police identified 31-year-old Razie Brown of Covington, Georgia as a suspect in this case. With the help of the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, Brown was arrested and extradited to Virginia.

Police charged Brown with four counts each of obtaining money by false pretenses and impersonating a law enforcement officer. He remains in custody without bond.
