$5K Scholarships Presented To FCPS Graduates By Moose Lodge In Fairfax
Centreville Moose Lodge #2168 recently awarded $5,000 to five recent graduates from Fairfax County high schools.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Centreville Moose Lodge #2168 presented $5,000 scholarships to five recent Fairfax County high school graduates on Saturday afternoon.
Lodge President Herb Zimmerman, Scholarship Chair Bill Stollhans and City of Fairfax Mayor Catherine Read, who is also member of the lodge, presented scholarship certificates to the following graduates:
- Ashley Guzman, a graduate of Fairfax High School, plans to study nursing at NOVA Community College.
- Safiya Akpinar, a Centreville High School grad, will be pursing a degree in public health at Virginia Tech.
- Bairon Recinos-Monjaras, who graduated from Herndon High School, will be studying biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia.
The following scholarship recipients were not able to participate in Saturday's ceremony:

- Jasleen Nijjar, who graduated from Robinson Secondary School will be studying business at George Mason University.
- Jayden Vafier a Centreville High School graduate, will be seeking a degree in psychology/criminology at Virginia Tech.
This was the first year Centreville Moose Lodge #2168 has presented scholarships as part of its scholarship program for graduates of Fairfax County high schools. The lodge has been located in the City of Fairfax for more than 25 years.
