$75K In Damage To Artie's Restaurant Caused By Exterior Fire
Fairfax City officials estimated Friday's fire at the Artie's Restaurant caused $75,000 in damage, not including the loss of revenue.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Artie's Restaurant remained closed Tuesday after an early morning fire on Friday damaged the exterior of the building located in Fairfax Circle Shopping Center, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.
"We are repairing exterior and minor interior damage from a fire outside the restaurant," the post said. "We will re-open as soon as we are able and will update artiesvia.com as we have more information."
City fire officials continue to investigate the cause of the Friday morning blaze, which damaged the exterior of the restaurant and that of an adjacent empty storefront. The interior of the restaurant also received smoke and water damage.

"We estimate $75,000 in damages to the building, but that number doesn’t include loss of revenue or loss of stock," Matthew Kaiser, a public information officer with the city, said in an email on Tuesday.
Although a gas meter and piping was located in the vicinity of the exterior fire, a Washington Gas spokesman told Patch on Friday the ignition source remained under investigation.
