On February 21, 2021 at 7:20 AM, City of Fairfax Police responded to 10829 Fairfax Boulevard, Breezeway Motel, for an abduction complaint.

Investigation revealed that on February 20, 2021, the victim, who was invited to a motel room by an acquaintance, was prohibited from leaving the room. After an extended period of time, it was determined that the suspect displayed a firearm while preventing the victim from leaving. The victim was eventually released by the suspect and allowed to leave on their own.
Upon attempting to initiate contact with the suspect, the subject was non-complaint and refused to follow directions by officers. After lengthy negotiations with the suspect and with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department, Solaymane Daryf, 19, of 10084 Applewood Court, Burke, VA was taken into custody without incident.

Daryf was charged with abduction (18.2-47), brandishing a firearm (18.2-282), and use of a firearm and in the commission of a felony (18.2-53.1) and was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was held on no bond.
