Banditos Tacos & Tequila Brings 'Taco Temple' To University Mall

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fans of Mexican street food and tequila in Fairfax will soon have a new place to dine. Banditos Tacos & Tequila, which serves 20 uniquely flavored tacos, handcrafted cocktails, infused margaritas and an expansive selection of tequila and mezcal, will be opening its doors March 1 in University Mall.

Located near George Mason University at 10621 Braddock Road, the 7,500 square-foot restaurant will offer outdoor patio seating, many televisions for sports fans to watch their favorite games, and regular musical entertainment, according to a release.

“Every attention to detail goes into Banditos, from our restaurant design and aesthetics to the ingredients used in our cocktails and kitchens,” said Sean White, founder and CEO of Baltimore-based White Oak Hospitality, in a release. “We are super excited to be a part of the Fairfax community and extremely thrilled to be a new place for the University community to experience.”

The Fairfax location will be the sixth restaurant to open in the chain. White Oak Hospitality also operates Banditos Tacos & Tequila restaurants in White Marsh, Towson, Fulton, and Baltimore in Maryland, and in Arlington in Virginia.

Fan favorites for this self-described "Taco Temple" include Bang Bang Shrimp Taco, Rus & Gus, Dynamite Fish Taco, Nashville Hot Taco and Pork Belly Taco, according to a release.

The restaurant also offers its signature Dito Rita, made with fresh squeezed lime juice, organic Agave, and Blanco Espolon Tequila. Diners can also choose from a variety of Agave-based spirits and more than 30 brands of tequila.

“Our passion for creating a unique dining experience is like no other,” White said, in the release. “Each of our menu items deliver flavorful experiences to our guests as well as the friendliness of our staff and energetic vibe once you enter through the doors of our newest Taco Temple.”
