Bartaco Now Open In Fairfax

A branch of the Mexican restaurant /bar Bartaco recently swung open its doors in Fairfax, and its outdoor island vibe is quite timely.

FAIRFAX, VA—If you're going to open a restaurant that features a decided taste of outdoor casual, you might as well do it when the temperatures finally begin to climb after a long winter that seems to hang around longer than usual—our two-day run of highs in the 70s notwithstanding. Enter "bartaco," which swung open its doors earlier this month at 2920 District Avenue, C120.

This location is dubbed Bartaco Mosaic owing to the surrounding area, and its vibe certainly isn't out of character. Mexican food is its forte, and the offerings are many, including seafood and steak. And when it comes to cocktails, expect to find new creations often. How else to describe it?

Here's how the smallish chain, which has locations in several states, describes itself on the official website: "bartaco is inspired by the beach culture of brazil, uruguay and southern california. we are upscale street food with a coastal vibe in a relaxed environment. we are freshly-squeezed juices, specialty cocktails and beer out of a bottle. bartaco evokes a visit to a stylish beach resort and creates an unforgettable experience."
