FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Sunday is National Ice Cream Day and many people may be looking for a place to grab a scoop of their favorite flavor.

We asked our readers their recommendations of the best places to enjoy ice cream in and around Fairfax City.

The region is certainly full of ice cream lovers. Lawn Starter, a professional lawn service company, ranked nearby Washington, D.C. on its 2023’s Best Cities for Ice Cream Lovers list.

Miami, Florida was the city with the most ice cream lovers, according to Lawn Starter's rankings. D.C. ranked ninth and the city at the bottom of the list was Montgomery, Alabama.

Those looking for a refreshing, healthier option to cool down may want to visit their local Häagen-Dazs Shop, which are offering dairy-free Strawberry Frozen Lemonade and Raspberry Frozen Lemonade through Sept. 14. These chilly drinks blend lemonade and fruity sorbet with fizzy seltzer bubbles.
