Distinguished pianist Jeffrey Siegel concludes his 20th anniversary season of performing his beloved Keyboard Conversations® series at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts in Fairfax with a dazzling evening of music spotlighting the brilliance of the great composers who have used the dance idiom to create beautiful music. Siegel brings “Listen to the Dance” to George Mason University’s Center for the Arts on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 7 p.m.

This spectacular program features such works as Carl Maria von Weber’s “Invitation to the Dance,” Beethoven’s “Funeral March,” Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March,” Stravinsky’s “Circus Polka” and other polkas by Shostakovich and Smetana, a tango by Astor Piazzolla and many other musical delights for the ear in “dance time.” Siegel presents enlightening commentary on these masterful composers before performing their works.

Siegel created Keyboard Conversations® more than 40 years ago to help audiences gain a richer understanding and appreciation for piano and classical music. He has developed a following among both classical music enthusiasts and newcomers, and his ongoing series flourish in numerous cities across the United States, including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Phoenix, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Dallas, Denver and Washington, D.C. He has also been invited to appear as a soloist with some of the world’s greatest orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony, Moscow State Symphony, Orchestra of La Scala, New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Boston Symphony Orchestra, among others.
