Our Demo Diva, Annie Sidley, returns this week at 1:30 p.m. to cook good food for us once again. She plans her menus in advance but adapts as necessary to the produce and products on hand. But she is planning to make lentil salad with winter vegetables and marinated beef, butternut squash and kale linguini, and cream patisserie with fresh pears and apples.

We will also welcome another new vendor, The Finger Buffet. Nancy Khan and friend will be bringing a variety of finger foods from the coastal Mediterranean area. They are just getting started, so stop by, sample their wares and talk to them about what you would like to see. These ladies can cook and want to remain flexible to meet the demand.
And wait until you see the celery at Heritage Farm. It is gorgeous and unlike any celery you have ever seen! And don't throw away those leaves -- chop them as you would parsley for an herb or an ingredient in your next tabbouleh. I am going to use them to make stock -- both chicken and vegetable-based.

Heritage is still bringing several varieties of fresh beans, too. I used them in a wonderful all-local soup (except for the fennel) Saturday that included onions, fennel, garlic, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, celery, potatoes, beans and corn. There may have been something else in there -- I was pulling out of the refrigerator every vegetable in sight!
