The budget is the city’s single most important document. It determines the future, funding projects and programs that lay the groundwork for the community’s future accomplishments.

The CIP identifies capital projects for the next five years, including the next fiscal year projects to be included in the budget.
How you can participate in the budget process:
- Get a quick glimpse of the proposed FY22 budget
- Watch the city manager's presentation at the February 23 City Council meeting: click here — February 23, 2021 Agenda — then click on item 2a
- Review the PowerPoint that accompanies the city manager's presentation
- Review the proposed budget and CIP
- Online: download the documents from fairfaxva.gov/budget
