The scoring pace slowed in the second half as both teams went scoreless deep into the period. Woodson finally found its offensive rhythm midway through the half and moved out to a comfortable lead, cruising to the 16 – 10 final.
Woodson displayed a balanced scoring sheet with eight players tallying goals. The Cavs’ staunch defense was led by Ali Kiviat, Morgan Willard, Katie Hayes, and goalie Victoria Vinall. Annandale was led on offense by Paige Britton and Mackenzie Wright. On defense, Atoms’ goalie Kaitlin Martindale had a fine game turning back a number of Cavs’ scoring attempts.
