Centreville Labor Center Reopens After Coronavirus Shutdown
The Centreville Labor Resource Center reopened over the weekend after suspending job placement operations due to the coronavirus.

CENTREVILLE, VA — The Centreville Immigration Forum reopened its Centreville Labor Resource Center over the weekend, providing day laborers a safe place to find work. The center will be open Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays from 6 a.m. to noon.
On days the center is open, workers should call the center at 703-543-6272 between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to add their name to a list of workers available for the day. The center will draw names to determine the order in which jobs will be distributed, as it has done in the past.
The center will call workers if they find a job for them and provide them with details about the work to be done, pay rate, and transportation.

The Centreville Labor Resource Center serves as a safe place where recent immigrants can get matched up with homeowners who need odd jobs done around the house or contractors who need workers for one- or two-day jobs. The center suspended his job placement services two months ago due to the coronavirus crisis.
With its reopening, the center is recommending that employers schedule jobs with the center in advance by calling 703-543-6272 or visiting the center's website. Walk-in job requests can also be made during the center's business hours. Employers will be asked to wait in their car for 20 to 30 minutes while the center assigns the job.

Employers must provide round-trip transportation for the worker from their residence or the labor center, or drive them or arrange and pay for a taxi or ride sharing service; a mask for each worker assigned the job; hand sanitizer at the job site; gloves for the worker to wear if the job will be done indoors; and adequate space to allow for social distancing, especially for indoor jobs.
