Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Fairfax Holds Ladybug Release
Students celebrated the environment by releasing thousands of beneficial bugs in their schoolyard for Earth Day

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Roger Stover Drive in Fairfax have caught the environmental bug! On April 23, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing thousands of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Some students were dressed for the occasion, wearing tie-dye T-shirts they created. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
