Child Sexual Abuse Case Earns Prison Sentence For Fairfax Man
A Fairfax man was sentenced to over a decade in prison Wednesday for attempting to produce and possess child sexual abuse material.
FAIRFAX, VA — A 24-year-old Fairfax man was sentenced in federal court on Wednesday to 16 years in prison for attempting to produce and possess child sexual abuse material, according to court documents.
Brian Scott McGalem repeatedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with at least six minors and attempted to coerce them into sending him sexually explicit photos of themselves, according to court documents. At the time of these offenses, at least three of the victims were under the age of 12.
Identifying himself on several social media platforms as “Random Hipster#2429” and “Sircoolbeans,” McGalem attempted to groom and entice minor victims into producing and sending him sexually explicit images of themselves, according to court documents. He also sent sexually explicit images of himself to some of the minor victims.

Examining McGalem's electronic devices, authorities discovered several videos and images of child sexual abuse material, according to court documents.
