Chinese Lions, Drums Welcome New Pekoe Tea Bar To Fairfax Boulevard

Pekoe Tea Bar celebrated the grand opening of its new location on Fairfax Boulevard in Fairfax City on Saturday.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Colorful Chinese lions and loud drumming provided by Chua Martial Arts helped celebrate the grand opening Saturday of the new Pekoe Tea Bar in the City of Fairfax.

Originating in the San Francisco Bay area, Pekoe has four boba tea bars in California and at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

"Our specialty or niche is the ambiance we create," Angela Vo told Patch on Saturday. She and her husband own the six tea bars. "We create a more lounge plus atmosphere, so that families of all ages can come together. You don't have to through the club and deal with alcohol and the drama."
