Choking Incident Leads To Strangulation Charge For Fairfax Man: Police
City of Fairfax Police arrested a man they say choked the passenger of another vehicle involved in a traffic altercation on Sunday.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested 48-year-old Bum Kim of 5612 Hampton Forest Way in Fairfax for choking the passenger of a car involved in a traffic altercation on Sunday, according to a release.
Officers were called around 3:57 p.m., to the area of Fairfax Boulevard and Pickett Road for the report of a traffic complaint. After investigating the situation, police determined Kim was driving a vehicle that had been involved in a traffic altercation.
Police say Kim left his vehicle, put his hands around the neck of a passenger sitting in the second vehicle, and began to choke her. Kim then threw a ginger ale can at the passenger side of the second vehicle and left the scene, according to the release.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
After locating Kim, police took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with strangulation and shooting at/throwing missiles at a car. He was then held without bond.
