Contract For New Superintendent Approved By Fairfax City School Board
Fairfax City School Board approved the contract of Jeff Platenberg, who will succeed outgoing Superintendent Dr. Phyllis Pajardo.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Fairfax City School Board voted 5-0 on Monday night to approve the four-year contract of incoming Superintendent Jeff Platenberg.
Platenberg will step into his new role on July 1, a day after outgoing Superintendent Dr. Phyllis Pajardo retires. The city school board started looking for its next superintendent after Pajardo announced her retirement in March.
Earlier this month, the school board tapped Platenberg to be Pajardo's successor. He is currently the assistant superintendent for facilities and transportation services for Fairfax County Public Schools.
