Court Appointed Special Advocates of Fairfax: Fairfax City Heroes
We all know someone who's making a difference. Let's help share these amazing stories! Presented by Ring.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Ashleigh Conrad, a community member who nominated the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) of Fairfax as heroes. For each abused and neglected child referred by the Fairfax County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court, a CASA volunteer is the child’s best hope for a positive future.

Reason for recognition: The 120-plus Court Appointed Special Advocates of Fairfax are volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in our community, and I strongly feel that as a group, they should be recognized for their dedication to the children they serve. It's been so inspiring to watch this spectacular group of individuals work through the challenges the pandemic has presented them to continue their advocacy.
One thing to know: CASA volunteers are often a vulnerable child's only consistent and caring adult in their life. They work tirelessly to ensure that these abused and neglected children have their stories changed — for the better.
Thank you to the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Fairfax volunteers for all you do!
