Deadline For In-Person Absentee Voting Saturday in Fairfax
The Feb. 7 special election for the city's new mayor has prompted Fairfax officials to offer some last-minute dates and times to remember.

FAIRFAX, VA — With just a handful of days remaining before the special mayoral election Feb. 7, the city has issued both a reminder and guidelines for voting. Saturday is the final day for in-person absentee voting.
On the ballot are the city's three candidates for mayor:
Council members Michael J. DeMarco, David L. Meyer and Eleanor D. "Ellie" Smith.

Steven Stombres has been the acting mayor following the arrest of then-mayor Scott Silverthorne last August on sex-for-meth charges.

Important Dates & Deadlines for the Special Election
Election:
- February 7, 2017 Special Election (6 a.m.-7 p.m.)

Absentee Voting:
- February 4, 2017 - Last day to vote in-person absentee. 5 p.m. deadline.
In-Person Absentee Voting:
- Saturday, February 4th; 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
