Homicide Investigated; Victim In Suspicious Death Identified As Fairfax City Man

A 50-year-old Fairfax City man was identified as the deceased adult found June 10 at a Fairfax Boulevard strip mall.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police identified city resident Luis Barahona Reyes, 50, on Friday, as the deceased adult found last Saturday morning in a dumpster at a strip mall on Fairfax Boulevard.

Reyes' death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police were called to 9715 Fairfax Blvd. around 9:21 a.m., on June 10, for the report of a dead body, according to a release. The body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation.

Police were called to the address by an employee of one of the tenants of the building. The body was found inside a dumpster that serves the multi-tenant shopping center, according to a building tenant.
