Derby-Q Combines Barbecue, Kentucky Derby

Derby-Q, an outdoor community festival, will showcase the area’s premier brewmaster and BBQ vendors from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in Old Town Square in Fairfax City.

The festival will feature bourbon and scotch whiskey tastings. Live blues bands will perform on stage while the crowds anxiously await the Greatest Two Minutes in Sports – the Kentucky Derby, shown on the big screen.

The cost of tickets:

• $10 General Admission – Enjoy live entertainment, BBQ food vendors (for sale), kids 3 and under enter free. All under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult 21+ please.
• $25 Beer Tasting Package – Includes free General Admission, souvenir tasting glass, 8 beer tasting tickets and 1 Famous Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Tasting. Re-buy beer tasting options available after entry.
• $65 Beer and Whiskey Tasting Package – includes free General Admission, souvenir tasting glass, 8 beer tasting tickets and 1 Famous Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Tasting. Re-buy beer tasting options available after entry. The Scotch Man Whiskey Tasting – 2:30pm & 5pm (choose one seating, limited seating).
