DUI-Related Manslaughter Charge Levied In 2023 Fatal Crash: Police
A 22-year-old Fairfax man surrendered to authorities after being charged in connection to a 2023 fatal collision on Stringfellow Road.

FAIRFAX, VA — A 22-year-old Fairfax man faces reckless driving and DUI-related manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal crash that occurred Dec. 5, 2023 in Centreville. Sohail Iqbal, 30, of Manassas was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
FCPD detectives determined that Gabriel Rincon was driving his 2013 BMW M3 in excess of 110 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone on Stringfellow Road, according to police. Near the intersection of Route 29, the BMW collided into Iqbal's 2012 Hyundai Sonata. The crash caused the Hyundai to cross the intersection and onto the embankment, where it struck a concrete utility pole.
Following the crash, Rincon was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. It was determined that he was intoxicated at the time of the collision, according to police.

Later, Rincon turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged and later released on his own recognizance.
The Dec. 5 crash was the 19th fatal vehicular crash in 2023 in Fairfax County.
