Early Morning Swim Prompts Arrests In Fairfax: Police

Fairfax Police officers were on routine patrol Monday when they saw people in the Fairfax Swimming Pool. One problem: It was 4 a.m.

FAIRFAX, VA—Fairfax Police officers were on routine patrol Monday when they saw people frolicking in the Fairfax Swimming Pool at 4200 Roberts Road. One problem: It was 4 a.m.

Detained and issued summons were Alfred Correa, 32; James Archibald, 25; and Nathan Baker, 22, all of Fairfax. Also in Monday's Fairfax police report:

11100 Block Gainsborough Court – On August 24, at approximately 2:29 PM, the complainant reported that he had recently attempted to rent a townhouse for a relative he found on Craigslist. He made a deposit into a bank account and has since not been able to contact the renter or recover his funds. Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.

DUI Arrest

Fairfax Boulevard / Lee Highway – On August 24 at 5:45 PM an officer responding to a report of a male subject stopping intermittently, not with traffic and erratically Officers located the vehicle and driver determining that the individual was operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. Michael Richard Smider, 30, of 8609 Virginia Ave, Annandale, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and refusal of blood/breath test. Bond was set at $2,000.
