The Early Word on Chops Crafthouse, New Restaurant in Fairfax City

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- When a new restaurant opens these days, it’s fairly easy to find out what diners think about it, thanks to online reviews like Yelp.

In Fairfax City, residents are eagerly trying out a new steakhouse that recently opened in town called Chops Crafthouse, located at 9959 Main St. The restaurant held its soft opening on Feb. 1.

Given that it’s just opened, residents probably need to give the owners and employees time to get the kinks out.

But here is the early word on what people like about Chops Crafthouse, and what diners think could use some improving, from reviews posted to Yelp:

Likes

• Alex gives Chops fours stars and says: “I had the filet mignon and it was delicious.“
• Jenny L says: “The food and service were both very good, and we will definitely return.”
• Michelle C: “Went to Chops for dinner tonight and it had hands down the best prime rib in Fairfax!”
• Bill K: “The steaks were all cooked to perfection and were fairly large and the grilled Brussels sprouts appetizer was fantastic as well.”
• Kelly D: Entrees: prime rib is excellent. Great flavor and I asked for a creamed horseradish sauce instead of just the raw horseradish and it was killer.

Dislikes

• Barbara C: “I will give this restaurant 6 months here unless they upgrade their old decor from a couple failed restaurants ago.”
• Bob S: “TVs in dining area little weird.”
• Jennifer K: “Our suggestion is to put booths all around to cozy up the place. Take down at least 50% of the TVs and put some decor on the walls.”
• P.C.: ”The beer was tasty but served in a small glass, similar to a brandy snifter, supposedly because of its high alcohol content. That was a surprise, especially when everyone around us had regular sized glasses of beer. Come on, really? I think they could spring for a full glass of beer at those prices.”
• Elsa P: “They are working on their bread and will introduce that “soon” - how long does it take to decide on bread!”
