Earth Day Events Ongoing in Fairfax
Earth Day events in Fairfax include a Saturday cleanup of Daniels Run Trail and an art exhibit by area students at City Hall through May 4.

FAIRFAX, VA — Earth Day is Saturday (April 22), and city officials are asking residents to come out and join a cleanup 10 a.m.-noon on Daniels Run Trail near Estel Road and Barlow Road. There also will be the creation of bird feeders from recyclable products and much more.
The event, which will include talks about waste reduction and recycling, is free but kids are requested to bring along guardians. Parking will be available at Daniels Run Elementary School, 3705 Old Lee Highway.

On hand will be members of the Environmental Sustainability Committee, which also is sponsoring the "Earth Art Show," Thursday (April 20) through May 4 in the atrium of City Hall. Students from Daniels Run Elementary, Providence Elementary and Lanier Middle School will display artwork with the theme: "Natural Causes! Exploring the impact of nature on our daily lives."
