Earth Fare Grand Opening Next Week In Fairfax
About a year after announcing plans to open an organic grocery store in Fairfax, Earth Fare will hold its grand opening next week.

FAIRFAX, VA — A little less than a year after announcing plans to open an organic grocery store in Fairfax, North Carolina-based Earth Fare will hold its grand opening 7-9 a.m. Jan. 10 at the Kamp Washington shopping center, 11054 Lee Highway. It'll be the second Earth Fare in Virginia, the first one having opened last year in Roanoke.
The store's slogan is "Live Longer with Earth Fare." It claims to have the broadest assortment of fresh, organic and local produce in the industry. It has more than 175 natural and organic bulk foods. Its meat comes from "humanely raised" livestock never given antibiotics or added hormones. It offers "sustainable and traceable" seafood, and also has an in-store cafe.
Earth Fare has an extensive list of things it doesn't include, which it calls a "Boot List." The list includes synthetic growth hormones, high fructose corn syrup, bleached and bromated flour, as well as artificial fats, sweeteners, preservatives, colors and flavors.
