Easter Weekend Weather Forecast: Mixed Bag

Weather conditions for Easter weekend are something of a mixed bag regarding egg hunts and church-going activity. It gets better with age.

STERLING, VA — Easter weekend's weather is something of a mixed bag but for the most part it's shaping up quite well for Easter egg hunts and Sunday church services. That's the word from the area arm of the National Weather Service.

For those of you who have Friday off, conditions are expected to be mostly cloudy with highs near 70 and light winds, with lows that night around 50. But when the the official Easter weekend arrives, matters begin a decidedly upward swing.

Temperatures for Saturday are expected to be in the mid 70s with light winds and a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Clouds apparently will play peek-a-boo with the sun.

For Sunday, however, rejoice — as it were. We're looking at mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 80s. Not until that night will a slight chance of rain invade the picture, but the temperatures aren't expected to dip below 60.

After that, here's a brief look at what's ahead, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
