The Tedder and Ximenes Piano Duo will present a recital at
Fairfax Presbyterian Church Friday evening, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the program is free, though a collection will be received to defray travel expenses for the performers. The recital will be held in the church’s Fellowship Hall, and there will be a reception after the performance.
Fairfax Presbyterian Church at 10723 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 is located behind the Fairfax Medical Center at the end of Presbyterian Way off Main Street in Fairfax. Teresa Tedder and Joanna Ximenes [pronounced “shi-MEN-ez”] have been performing as a piano duo since 2002, when both were graduate students at Campbellsville University in central Kentucky. Their extensive repertoire of music for “piano four hands” includes music by European masters and highlights the music of American, Brazilian, and women composers. The duo has toured in Brazil and the United States.

Ms. Tedder is a composer, pianist, choral conductor, and music educator currently on the faculty of Saint Catharine College in Springfield, Kentucky. She also directs the Mid-Kentucky Chorus, a community choir in Springfield. Ms. Ximenes studied in Zimbabwe and then taught music in Brazil for 28 years before returning to her native Kentucky. She is a church organist and maintains a
piano studio in Louisville.
