THE FITZMAURICE BAND (http://www.fitzmauriceband.com) - embraces a crossover between progressive and alternate country with equal mastery of the bluegrass genre. This young quintet, fronted by twin sisters Maria and Sarah Fitzmaurice, is on the fast track to success with their first CD project in the works. They have opened for The Infamous Stringdusters, The Dixie Bee-liners and Maountain Heart as well as major country artist Jason Michael Carroll. They were in the top 15 in four categories at the 2010 Bluegrass Legacy's Peoples Choice Awards (Best Band, Female Vocalist, Fiddle and Mandolin). Not a bad way to start the year.
