THE SATYR HILL BAND, named after an area near Baltimore, has been a mainstay of the Washington DC Metro bluegrass music scene for many years. This band is an enjoyably versatile five-piece acoustic group which features superb vocal harmonies (four lead vocalists) and fine-tuned arrangements. Classic instrumentation of banjo, fiddle, guitar, bass and mandolin give a rich fullness to their sound. They offer Bluegrass, New Grass and Americana style music with a touch of The Grateful Dead and then some.
