Fairfax City Council Public Meeting Has Been Scheduled For April 14

The public is invited to participate in the City Council electronic meeting that begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. Click here to watch Cityscreen-12 live.

The following public hearings are scheduled April 14:

• 7a: Public hearing on the City Manager’s proposed FY21 budget. (Continuation of public hearing - budget adoption scheduled for May 6, 2020) (click here to read the proposed budget)

• 7b: Public hearing and Council actions an ordinance amending Chapter 90 (Taxation), Article X (Old Town Service District Tax) of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to the extension of the expiration date and amendments to the scope of the Old Town Services District. • 7c: Public hearing and Council action on an ordinance amending Chapter 66 (Personnel), Article I (In General) of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to personnel matters. Click here to read the staff report

• 7d: Public hearing and Council action on an ordinance repealing Chapter 2 (Administration), Article VI, Division 3 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to procurement procedures. (Staff recommends postponing this item until April 28)

• 7e: Public hearing and Council action on an ordinance, previously enacted under emergency procedures, modifying public meeting requirements and public practices and procedures in order to address continuity of operations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic disaster. • 7f: Public hearing and Council action considering the enactment of an ordinance, previously enacted under emergency procedures, amending portions of Chapter 90 (Taxation), Article VI (Tax on Meals) and Article VII (Transient Occupancy Tax), to temporarily extend the due dates for the remittance of certain taxes.
