Governor Ralph Northam had moved the General Election to May 19, delaying the election by two weeks, due to concerns related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Here is important information:
- All ballots cast for the "May 5 General Election" will be counted on May 19.
- Absentee voter applications are accepted until 5 p.m. May 12. Voters are encouraged to Vote At Home. Visit vote.elections.virginia.gov to complete an absentee application.
- Don’t wait! Return your absentee ballot as soon as possible.
- Ballots must be received in the office of elections by 7 p.m. May 19 in order to be counted.
- Curbside voting continues from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at City Hall, 10455 Armstrong Street. Call the number posted on the sign and stay in your car to vote.
- The last day to absentee vote curbside is Saturday, May 16. Voting will be permitted from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call the number posted on the sign and stay in your car to vote.
- In person precinct voting will be available Tuesday, May 19 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for those who have not already voted absentee.
- Precincts will be practicing social distancing on Election Day. You may experience a wait outside the precinct.
- Please wear a mask.
- You may bring your own black or blue pen. No gel pens, please.
- Please review a sample ballot so you are prepared to vote: https://www.fairfaxva.gov/government/voter-registration/sample-ballots .
- All voters currently registered are eligible to vote in this election.
