Police Charge 18-Year-Old Fairfax City Man With Burglary At Local Car Dealership

City of Fairfax Police charged a local man in connection with the early morning burglary of Fairfax Motors on Main Street on Tuesday.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested a local man in connection with a burglary that occurred early Tuesday morning at a city car dealership, according to a police release.

Around 1:14 a.m., an officer noticed the glass front door of Fairfax Motors at 9909 Main St. was shattered. The interior lights in multiple vehicles on the lot were activated and the officer saw an unknown figure near the front of the business. The suspect fled on foot but was later apprehended.

A preliminary investigation by police determined that the suspect had gained entry into the business, where he obtained keys for the vehicles parked on the lot.

Police arrested 18-year-old Gavin Owen Robert Goffner of 4208 Hunt Club Circle in Fairfax and charged him with burglary. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was held on a $500 secured bond.
