Fairfax City Planners OK Mixed-Use Development

Property will include apartments, a new grocery store, retailers and restaurants, according to Planning Commission documents.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- An exciting new mixed-use development in Fairfax City, featuring a grocery store, apartments, retail and dining was officially given the green light, after members of the Fairfax City Planning Commission unanimously approved it at their meeting this week.

Combined Properties LP is building the development, Scout on the Circle, at 9444-9542 Fairfax Boulevard at Routes 50 and 29 at Fairfax Circle (see map below). Bisnow reported last summer that the price tag is $160 million for the development.

  • 400 Class-A Apartment Units
  • 28,000 SF of Small Shop Retail (plans call for a full-service as well as a quick-serve restaurant)
  • 54,000 SF Grocer
