Fairfax Health District COVID-19 Vaccine Registration Now Open For All Phase 1b
Beginning March 30, individuals who live or work in the Fairfax Health District in the following categories are now eligible.

Beginning March 30, individuals who live or work in the Fairfax Health District that fall into the following categories are now eligible to register to get a COVID-19 vaccine:

- Officials needed to maintain continuity of government
- Clergy and faith leaders
- Janitorial and cleaning staff
See below for specific category details. The Fairfax Health District includes Fairfax County, the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, and the towns of Clifton, Herndon and Vienna.
These are the last three priority groups of frontline essential workers in Phase 1b as outlined by the Virginia Department of Health. The Fairfax Health District is now accepting registrations for everyone included in Phase 1b.

The health district is opening these categories because the vaccine supply is increasing and are moving through the current waitlist at a faster pace. The health district expects to move into Phase 1c by mid-April and move into Phase 2 by May 1 in accordance with VDH guidance.
Employees should be prepared to show some form of work-related identification or paystub as the vaccine appointment could be offered by one of our vaccine partners that may require ID.
As a reminder, Fairfax County is not participating in the statewide registration system at this time. You should register on our website.
Officials Needed to Maintain Continuity of Government
The following federal, state and local government employees that live or work in the Fairfax Health District are included in this category:
- Boards, Authorities and Commissions
- Government contractors (on-site contractors only)
- Government employees (full- and part-time)
- Judicial employees (commonwealth’s attorneys, court personnel, judges)
According to VDH, the following examples are also included in this group:
- Criminal history record specialists
- DMV workers (public facing)
- Election and poll workers
- K12 school training providers
- Law enforcement accreditation coordinators
- Law enforcement field services training coordinators
- Law enforcement training providers
Clergy and Faith Leaders
This category refers to formally designated individuals that perform religious functions critical to the continuity of the faith community, congregation or house of worship.
According to VDH, the following examples are included in this group:
- Apostles
- Bishops
- Cardinals
- Clergy members
- Imams
- Ministers
- Nuns
- Pastors
- Priests
- Pujaris
- Rabbis
Janitorial and Cleaning Staff
