Police: Fairfax Man Charged After Assault At Main Street Goodwill
Fairfax City police charged Robert Edmanson, 36, with assault and giving officers false identifying information at Goodwill.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A Fairfax man was charged with assault and battery after an altercation Wednesday at the Goodwill store on Main Street, according to Fairfax City Police.
Officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. to the store at 9960 Main St. A person told police that they had been involved in an altercation with another person inside the business.
Police located the suspect nearby and detained him. During the investigation, the suspect provided officers with false identifying information, police said.

Other Charges Remain Pending
Robert Glen Edmanson Jr., 36, was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with assault and battery and falsely identifying himself to law enforcement.
Police said Edmanson received a $250 secured bond. Fairfax City General District Court records listed him as remaining in custody as of Tuesday.

Both Fairfax City charges are Class 1 misdemeanors. Edmanson’s arraignment was continued Thursday, and an adjudicatory hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Sept. 22, court records show. No dispositions were listed.
Prince William County court records show Edmanson also has several pending cases from two arrests in June.
Charges stemming from a June 23 incident include felony assault of a law enforcement or correctional officer, felony possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance and two misdemeanor obstruction counts. Preliminary and adjudicatory hearings in those cases are scheduled for Sept. 22.
Separate charges from a June 30 incident include fleeing from law enforcement, trespassing after being forbidden and public intoxication. A show-cause proceeding alleges Edmanson violated a condition of his pretrial release. Those matters are scheduled for Friday.
Prince William Circuit Court records also show a pending probation-violation proceeding connected to a controlled-substance case. The court revoked Edmanson’s sentence or probation in an earlier violation proceeding June 4. A new alleged violation was filed Aug. 6.
The pending charges are allegations. Edmanson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
