Fairfax Man Dies After Triathlon: Media Report

Authorities in Colorado are investigating the death last week of a Fairfax man after he competed in a triathlon.

Brian Godlove, 40, died Aug. 5 at a hospital in Boulder, Colo., three days after Ironman Boulder, an Aug. 2 triathlon race that included a 2.4-mile swimming leg, a 112-mile bicycling portion and a 26.2-mile running leg. Godlove completed the swimming and cycling legs of the race, but not the running leg, WUSA-TV Channel 9 and the Asociated Press reported.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday that an autopsy was completed, and the determination of the cause and manner of death were pending further investigation, the AP reported.
